Mitsubishi Canada: A Key Ally in the Fight Against Hunger

Far beyond vehicle design, Mitsubishi's Canadian division maintains a deep commitment to the Canadian social fabric. One of the greatest demonstrations of this local connection is that the company continued its incredible hunger-fighting initiative in September with its flagship program, "Road to End Hunger," which is conducted in collaboration with Food Banks Canada.

This year, we witnessed a decisive turning point: for the first time, the entire Mitsubishi dealer network across the country mobilized. This unprecedented action made it possible to extend assistance to local food banks, directly in the communities where they operate.

Throughout September, each dealership acted as a collection point for monetary donations and non-perishable food items, while also organizing local events to amplify the initiative's reach. In addition to all these on-the-ground efforts, Mitsubishi Canada is making a direct contribution of $100,000 to Food Banks Canada. This significant amount will be used to fund food security programs nationwide, including in areas where Mitsubishi dealerships are not located.

"This program embodies our values," said Kenichi Kawaji, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Canada. "The 100% participation of our network this year demonstrates the strength of our collective commitment to Canadians in need. We are proud to help build a country where no one is left behind."

Faced with record demand, which saw more than two million food bank visits in a single month, Kirstin Beardsley, CEO of Food Banks Canada, welcomed this significant support: "Mitsubishi's continued support plays a crucial role in our fight to relieve hunger today and prevent it tomorrow." »

The campaign ran from September 1st to 30th, with donations scheduled to be distributed in communities from October 1st to 10th. National results will be announced on October 16th, World Food Day. At the same time, Mitsubishi head office employees will be helping Food Banks Mississauga, while the public is invited to contribute via the brand's website.

Through this major initiative, Mitsubishi Canada is reaffirming its role as a responsible corporate citizen, firmly committed to working towards a future without hunger.
