2026 Lineup Preview

Mitsubishi announced the changes affecting its 2026 model lineup in mid-July. The least we can say is that enthusiasts will have some interesting things to look forward to.

And the changes are all over the place, whether it's an updated model, an optimized engine, the electric range of the Outlander PHEV, or even design elements.

Outlander and Outlander PHEV

The biggest changes affect the best-selling model in the family, the Outlander, both the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and the gasoline variant.

The PHEV model benefits from significant changes for 2026, in line with those made to the gasoline version in early 2025. The interior features a new design, including a new center console, new materials, and new colors. The center console has also been redesigned to offer a wider armrest, new, more generous cup holders, and a new space for charging cell phones.

Like the regular Outlander, the PHEV variant will benefit from the audio system developed in collaboration with Yamaha, for exquisite sound. The multimedia system has also been updated and features a 12.3-inch screen.

Exteriorly, we get a revised grille, new bumpers, new designs for the 18- or 20-inch wheels, and darker-looking taillights. As for the Black variant, it's back with its more gloomy, yet very successful styling.

And, excellent news: the Outlander PHEV will receive a larger battery, which will have an impact on the range, which will increase beyond the current 61 kilometers.

For driving, the steering wheel and comfort level have also been upgraded to provide a smoother, safer ride. The updated model is expected in the first quarter of 2026.

2026 Outlander

With the regular version, despite the changes made in early 2025, we're getting other significant changes for 2026. In fact, a new engine is reserved for this model, a unit developed in-house by Mitsubishi. We're talking about a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, an engine featuring a 16-valve configuration and a hybrid system. The new engine promises to deliver more torque and faster acceleration.

Aesthetically, nothing has changed, except for the addition of the Black variant. The model will be in dealerships towards the end of this year.

2026 Eclipse Cross

The Eclipse Cross SUV has received some equipment adjustments. For example, the GT variant gains remote start and navigation. The Black version's price has been reduced by $1,500, thanks in part to the removal of the sunroof.

The 2026 version of the model will arrive in dealerships by the end of the summer.

2026 RVR

Finally, with the RVR, customers still have access to an attractive entry-level model equipped with one of the best all-wheel drive systems in the industry, the Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. Otherwise, minor adjustments have been made to the trim levels, but they're minimal.

The model will arrive in dealerships during the last three months of 2025.
